Sprintboard

Zmaster has developed another interesting app called Sprintboard.  It's function is just the opposite of Smoothboard which allowed a user to apply a single swipe that could go through all the springboard pages rather than slide to each one.  What Sprintboard does is it allows the user to drag their finger along the page dots at the bottom and it goes to each page of springboard without a transition.  Some users may find it annoying as it can scroll through the pages a little too quickly.  The screenshot below shows how when you touch the page dot area, it highlights itself to let you know that it is activated and ready to go.

Sprintboard is free and can be downloaded though the Bigboss repo in Cydia or from the link below and manually installed.

Download Sprintboard

To install manually:
1. Download deb file from above link
2. Open terminal and type "su" and hit enter
    -enter password (default is "alpine")
3. Type, "dpkg -i sprintboard.deb" and hit enter.
4. Respring iPhone and enjoy!

What do you think about Sprintboard?  Let me know!

Is Verizon REALLY the Better Network?

We are all well aware of the ongoing feud between Verizon Wireless and ATT over their wireless networks.  Verizon says that they have the most 3G coverage while ATT has the faster 3G coverage, but what's more important?  Verizon has really stressed the use of the ATT coverage map and how the coverage is much more sparse than that of their own.  Is Verizon falsely leading consumers to believe that ATT doesn't offer wireless service in much of the US because the map they use is only of 3G coverage and not the carriers wireless coverage.  That's why ATT attempted to get a court order for Verizon to stop airing the commercials, but were denied almost immediately.  ATT responded to their limited 3G coverage by saying that much of the areas on the map that are excluded have very limited populations/demand for the network.  That's why ATT has the faster 3G network.  It is unfortunate for the people that live in the uncovered areas, but it benefits the majority of us.  Just how much faster is it?  Take a look below...

 *stats from boygeniusreport.com

Clearly, ATT wins when it comes to speed.  Also, a smartphones abilities on a network is extremely important seeing as they are the main users of data on any wireless companies network.  Take the iPhone for example...you may recall ATT's recent commercials bringing attention to it's network's ability to allow you to hold a conversation and browse the web at the same time.  How worthless would your iPhone be if everytime you answered a call your download is interrupted...or if you're on the road and your friend wants to know what time the showings are for a movie that you're supposed to see, but you have to hang up and call them back.  At this point in technology it is not acceptable!

So what do you think is more important:  coverage or speed/abilities?  Let me know

AndroidLock

If you know anything about the Android OS then you are aware of the systems dot-connecting lockscreen.  Well, now thanks to Zmaster's AndroidLock, we have the option as well.  It's a very cool alternative to the lock slider or passcode options that iPhone users have now.

AndroidLock is free (option to donate) and available on the BigBoss repo in Cydia or you can download it from the link below and manually install it.

After installing it, go to Settings --> AndroidLock to set the pattern.  It requires a minimum of 4 dots connected and allows a maximum of 9.

Download AndroidLock

To install manually:
  1.  Download deb file from above link
  2.  Open terminal and type "su" and hit enter
       -enter password (default is "alpine")
  3.  Type, "dpkg -i androidlock.deb" and hit enter.
  4.  Respring iPhone and enjoy!

Do you like having more lockscreen options?  Have any ideas on other lockscreen methods?

HTC Leopard Theme

Modmyi.com is hosting a great theme by an author by the name of Rusian Ardashev.  It is called HTC Leopard.  It looks even better when used with the Shrink and iBlank applications, both on Cydia.

So what do you think?  Have a theme that you think is great?  Let me know!
